How to Use Fox IPTV on Android TV
Android TV and Google TV devices — including many Sony, Philips, TCL and Chromecast-with-Google-TV models — install supported players straight from Google Play.
Before you start
- An active Fox IPTV subscription and the details we send you.
- An Android TV or Google TV device signed in to a Google account.
- A stable internet connection, wired if the device has an Ethernet port.
Step-by-step instructions
- Update the system. Open Settings, System, then System update. Installing pending updates first prevents most playback oddities.
- Open Google Play on the TV. Use the Play Store app on the device itself, or install remotely from the Play Store website while signed in to the same Google account.
- Install a supported player. Search for the player we recommend and install it. Only use Google Play or the developer's official site — never a random download link.
- Grant the permissions it asks for. Storage or network permissions are normally required for the player to save your list and stream properly.
- Enter your subscription details. Open the player, choose the add-playlist or add-account option and enter the details exactly as we sent them.
- Load the list and set a default quality. Let the content list finish loading, then pick a quality setting that matches your connection.
- Pin the app to your home row. Add the player to the Android TV home screen favourites so it is one click away next time.
Troubleshooting
- The player is not available in Google Play for my TV — Some TV models have a limited Play catalogue. Message us with the model and we will suggest an alternative supported player or device.
- Audio plays but there is no picture — Switch the player's decoder setting between hardware and software, then restart the app.
- Frequent buffering in the evening — Evening congestion is common. Try a wired connection, a 5 GHz network, or a lower stream quality.
- The list disappeared after an update — Re-enter your details in the player. Keep the message we sent you so they are always to hand.
A note on safety
Only install applications from your device's official store or from the developer's own official website. Avoid unofficial download sites, and only use your subscription to access content you are legally authorized to watch.
